Our Summer School English course helps you improve your Grammar, Vocabulary, Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening Skills. It is a great way to develop your English for work, study or pleasure. We have students of different ages, from different countries, cultures and backgrounds studying together at Nottingham English School.
Some students come to improve their English for career purposes, some to prepare for further study, or to improve their English level for a future English test such as IELTS.
On the first day you will be tested and placed into a class with learners of the same level, we have a range of class levels:
A typical weekly programme of Summer School would cover:
Speaking – One to one, group, and class discussion, this will help improve your confidence, pronunciation and fluency.
Listening – Various exercises to help you listen and understand the words you hear.
Vocabulary – Learn the correct words you need to communicate clearly.
Writing and Grammar – Gain confidence to understand various texts, and the skills you need to write English clearly.
There will be projects and homework to encourage you to learn outside as well as inside the classroom. There will be modern interactive software as well as traditional textbooks to work through, and you will receive a college certificate at the end of your studies.
Nottingham English School has a Personal Success and Welfare coach dedicated to helping you get the most out of your studies with us; along with arranging various social activities during the year, they also run a free weekly Conversation Club. This is an informal relaxed time outside of college to give you even more opportunity to practice your English skills.
