We re-launched our CELTA online programme in 2016 with a unique model of study; instead of the requirement for 4 weeks teaching practice at many providers, ours can be completed in a 2 week intensive block. This is ideal for those in employment who can book annual leave, without disrupting or suspending their current employment.
The online (theory) element of the course is studied online, in your own time over a period of 12 weeks, followed by the 2 week teaching practice and a 1 week online 'wrap-up' week in which you will reflect on everything that you have learnt over the course.
New College Nottingham and our English Language department Nottingham English School have delivered CELTA teacher training courses for many years, opening up a world of opportunities for people from a range of backgrounds.
For an information pack, and application form, please contact the CELTA team at [email protected] or 0115 838 0564 / 0897. The course fee is £1495 plus £140 CELTA registration fee, and instalments may be available.

The Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults is a qualification that gives you the training needed to be a successful English language teacher, and opens the door to exciting teaching opportunities in the UK and all over the world.
First introduced in 1978, this qualification has been known as CELTA since 1998 and is taken by over 10,000 trainee teachers around the world every year. This highly regarded course is accepted by thousands of language schools, universities and teaching organisations around the world.
Because CELTA places equal emphasis on both principles of language teaching and practical teaching, it shows employers that a teacher has successfully completed a challenging programme of training, exploring not only the theory of teaching but also gaining valuable experience of teaching real classes.
CELTA is accredited by the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulator (OfQual) at Level 5 on the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) for England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
